Counter Strike: Source

The next game I am going to talk to you about is Counter Strike: Source. It is a remake of Counter-Strike 1.6 (click here), and retains all of its team-based objective-oriented first-person-shooter style gameplay. CS:S is a must-have for every action gamer.

I played CSs for many years, of course it doesn't have so many features and such graphics as Call of Duty series but for all of action gamers this is probably the first and maybe still THE ONLY first-person-shooter game they are still playing.

I've been a big Call of Duty fan up to Black ops 2, I really enjoyed playing it but I have a feeling that makers want to do more and more in every new series, it's getting out of control in my opinion. I bought Call of Duty Ghosts and had no idea what was going on.

Anyway let's get back to CSs.

Right now, there are people all over the world playing Counter-Strike: Source. Odds are, there are more people playing today than there were playing yesterday.

The game is pretty simple, you can play on your own with PC controlled enemies and allies or play online versues different players. Yes, everyone plays online. There are two teams to choose from, Terrorists (T) and Counter-Terrorists (CT).

The games are divided in two types:
  • Bombs
  • Hostages
Bombs - as T you either have to plant a bomb and protect it so it detonates and as a CT you have to prevent T's from planting and detonating the bomb.

Hostages - as T you need to prevent CT's from rescuing the hostages.

Then there are different servers that people create, there are many different game types such as Gungames, zombies, rpgs, warcrafts etc. It's for you to determine on what kind of game type you enjoy playing.

To play CSs online you will need a steam account. Simple create and download it here.

Here are some screenshots of the game itself.

If you want to add me to your friends so we can play together. My steam name is "Paddy yo?".
