Tibia

Tibia is the first ever online game I have played. By far, it is the best MMORPG game in my opinion. It is a never ending game that enables you to explore the world that you have never imagined. It's highly addictive game. Tibia requires you to pay full attention to the game at all times, as if you walk away for a second, you might get killed by a player or a monster. This game is so time consuming that you can't even imagine. The biggest downside (or not?) for many is the graphics as it still has 2D graphics, but is that a downside? or does that 2D graphics give this game something special? It's for you to decide.

Tibia is one of the oldest and most successful massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG) created in Europe. In an MMORPG people from all over the world meet on a virtual playground to explore areas, solve tricky riddles and undertake heroic exploits.

For more than 10 years now, players have been visiting the medieval world of Tibia. At present, more than 500,000 players from all over the world inhabit the Tibian continent enjoying the numerous game features.

Acting as knights, paladins, sorcerers or druids, players are faced with the challenge of developing the skills of their selected characters, exploring a large variety of areas and dangerous dungeons and interacting with other players on a social and diplomatic level. Besides the sophisticated chat tools it is especially the unique freedom players enjoy in Tibia, that create an enormously immersive gaming experience.

What makes Tibia different from other MMORPG games is that your not gaining level from any quests, in tibia to level up you have to hunt monsters which yield experience points. It depends on your skills and level of what monsters you can hunt. This is why this game is so time consuming. 

For example, if you need 100 experience points to level up, and each monster gives you 5 experience. You will need to hunt down 20 monsters to level up. The higher level you have the more experience you will need for each level.
